50 ÷ 0.75 = 66.67
That means approximately 67 sheets across that section, and the actual order will depend on the roof layout, sheet orientation, edges, cuts and other details. Therefore, a profile has an effective cover width of 840 mm; the calculation changes:
50 ÷ 0.84 = 59.52
That gives approximately 60 sheets across the same section and that is is why the profile specification cannot be separated from the quantity calculation.
Sheet length matters too
If the roof slope requires a sheet length of 9 metres and the manufacturer produces the sheet at 9 metres, there may be fewer horizontal joints than if the same roof were covered using shorter sheets.
However, the correct sheet length must be established from the roof drawing and actual site dimensions, so please do not estimate sheet lengths from the building height alone.
The roof pitch changes the slope length. Overhangs also affect the required sheet length. Fascia details, gutters and other roof components can affect the final dimensions.
